author ~ book coach ~ publisher ~ ghostwriter
Ghostwriters come in all levels of book writing experience and passion for helping others. My enthusiasm for writing books, both yours and mine, is a constant, and my experience includes the following:
- I’ve written 10 books, including a full teaching guide, manuals, and numerous articles. My experience as a professional writer and publisher spans 20 years.
- I’ve published my own books plus a nonfiction book written by another author. That enables me to analyze a manuscript from both the author’s and publisher’s point of view.
- Guiding aspiring writers towards their goals became a regular part of my life during my term as president of the St. Louis Publishers Association and the three years I served on the board.
- I’ve taught “Writing Your Nonfiction Book” and “Self-Publishing” classes in the Write Stuff Writing Certificate program (non-credit) at University of Missouri – St. Louis.
- I teach private classes on nonfiction writing, self-publishing, and book marketing.
- One of my divorce books, Your Pocket Divorce Guide, is required reading for the Divorce Mediation course at St. Louis University’s School of Social Work, and is listed as recommended reading by web sites around the world.
- One of my journaling books, The Many Faces of Journaling: Topics & Techniques for Personal Journal Writing, has been used in freshman composition courses in various universities across the country, and is also recommended by a variety of web sites.
I will meet with you in person or by telephone and email to help define the premise of your book, establish how you plan to sell it, and discover any concerns you may have about turning ideas, notes, and possibly a written manuscript into a finished, commercially viable book.
I begin by reading the material they want included in the book, and proceed to write a top quality nonfiction book.
I wave all claims to royalties or any book earnings, present or future.
I welcome telephone calls and emails about my ghostwriting process.
We each have our own set of talents and skills.
We choose an engineer to design our bridges
and a dentist to protect our smiles.
It’s wise to hire someone whose talents fit the project at hand.
I don’t ask for any attribution on the book cover or any other author space. But I do appreciate a note of thanks for my “literary and book development advice” or “book coaching” in the book’s acknowledgment.
I don’t accept payment in royalties or on spec, but work only on a flat fee basis.
The average fee for Ghostwriting a 100-250 page nonfiction book ranges from $22,000 to $45,000. Anticipated completion time is usually 6 months. Fee and lead time depend on information provided, documentation, notes and/or rough manuscript, availability of client for interview, and research involved.
Book Coaching and other in-person or telephone consultation services cost $115 per hour.
