Nonfiction essays, articles, and book manuscripts (partial or complete)

 

Evaluation

Detailed written critique includes the following:

• an overall evaluation of content and writing,
• analysis of structure, arrangement, and presentation,
• clarity,
• appropriateness of writing style for subject matter and prospective reader.

Specific suggestions may be made for improving possible weaknesses in the manuscript and for adding energy to the writing.  Target audience and marketing suggestions are included in a separate section of the critique. (It’s essential to keep your target reader in mind as you write!)

 

Fees

*Pages must be double-spaced with 1” margins and 12 pt. serif font, such as Times New Roman.

• Minimum charge: $75 for up to 25 double-spaced pages.
• $3.00 for each page thereafter.
  (Example: For 100 manuscript pages ...
  

  First 25 pages	= $  75.00
  Additional 75 pages	= $225.00
  	= $300.00

• Optional follow-up phone calls: $30 for 15 minutes or $120 per hour.

Current book coaching clients receive a 10% discount on Critiquing.

Submission & Payment

Payment in advance is required. Upon receipt of your manuscript (printed pages, flash/jump drive or CD), we will email you an invoice, and will proceed with the critiquing after we receive your payment by check. Manuscript or electronic file should be sent to Pen Central, Book Coach, P. O. Box 220369, St. Louis, MO  63122.

Critique will be sent by email and/or USPS within 10-14 working days after receipt of the manuscript.
