Frequently Asked Question:

Q: You have instructor, consultant, and coach listed as part of your business. What is the difference?

A: An instructor is one who teaches while a consultant is one who analyzes problems you encounter in your forward progress on a project and designs a plan for eliminating, modifying, or bypassing the difficulties. However, a coach is one who helps you analyze your goals and plans a course toward achieving them and then works with you all the way to completion.

The what-ifs and if-onlys that chain our souls to the many endings in our lives can blind us to new opportunities.

The Coaching Process
Coaching Schedules & Fees

All writing and book coaching sessions are highly personalized,
tailored to fit the specific needs of each client.

Coaching sessions include teaching, coaching, and consulting. We will cover outlining, writing, and for those who are interested, self-publishing your nonfiction book. I also help you move past any sticking points that may arise. The coaching aspect involves assignments suited to your needs and schedule. I also consult with authors on book marketing plans.

As your book coach, I will help you …

  • create a working title and subtitle, based on marketing considerations,
  • show you how to brainstorm on paper to determine the points you want to cover in your book,
  • check your progress regularly, making ongoing assignments,
  • teach  you how to put more energy and power into your sentences,
  • and how to write the material in the front and back of the book as well as the cover copy.

I will also guide you through…

  • writing lethargy (also called writer’s block),
  • inertia,
  • lack of self-confidence, (I won’t accept you as a client unless I believe in your ability to write a saleable book.)
  • negative input from others,
  • and other bumps along the writing road.
  •

At our Initial Project Analysis Session, we will …

  • look at your reasons and credentials for writing the  book,
  • identify your target reading audience,
  • establish your short and long term goals,
  • determine a personal writing schedule (and revise it when necessary),
  • discuss the process of developing the chapters of your book,
  • develop an outline,
  • and if you elect to go forward, I’ll give you specific assignments to work
on before our next coaching session.

If you choose to self-publish … I will guide you through the self-publishing schedule, step by step, and will help you work up a practical, effective marketing plan.

You’ll learn valuable, authors’ secrets to add polish to your
paragraphs and chapters,
add visual PIZZAZZ to your pages,
find out how to write attention grabbing news releases,
and learn how to craft an outstanding press kit
to create a professional presentation of your book.
