Frequently Asked Question:

Q: You have instructor, consultant, and coach listed as part of your business. What is the difference?

A: An instructor is one who teaches while a consultant is one who analyzes problems you encounter in your forward progress on a project and designs a plan for eliminating, modifying, or bypassing the difficulties. However, a coach is one who helps you analyze your goals and plans a course toward achieving them and then works with you all the way to completion.

The what-ifs and if-onlys that chain our souls to the many endings in our lives can blind us to new opportunities.

Book Coaching ~ Critiquing ~ Ghostwriting

Two of my (Linda Senn's) primary passions in life are nonfiction writing and helping others achieve their writing goals. Therefore, I write, teach, offer book coaching services, and am a ghostwriter. Those aren’t hobbies or sidelines—they define my full-time career path.

In my 20 years as a professional writer, I’ve produced 10 books, a full-length teaching guide, manuals, and workbooks, as well as assorted articles. I also teach classes on writing your nonfiction book, self-publishing, and book marketing both independently and at University of Missouri/St. Louis. (See The Write Stuff Instructors page.)

My Book Coaching sessions are designed to help aspiring authors develop, plan, write, and perfect a nonfiction book manuscript. I also cover self-publishing and book marketing according to the client’s needs. Some clients come to me with only a topic idea, while others have a full, first draft already written. I enjoy working either, both, and everything in between.

Critiquing of both book length and shorter manuscripts (or portions thereof) include a written evaluation of content and writing, analysis of structure, arrangement, and presentation, clarity, and appropriateness of writing style for subject matter and prospective reader.

Specific suggestions may be made for improving possible weaknesses in the manuscript and for adding energy to the writing.

Ghostwriting involves writing a commercially viable book manuscript based on information provided by the client, or “author.” The ghostwriter remains invisible—only the client’s name appears on the book cover and other book author references.
